Realtor.com is a well-known national home search site, and plenty of renters start there. Here is how it works when you're renting, what it does well, and what's different when you rent with me.
First, a quick note on the name
Realtor.com is a website, run by Move, Inc. Its own terms say Move "is not a real estate broker." A REALTOR® is a person: a real estate licensee who is a member of the National Association of REALTORS® and agrees to its Code of Ethics. I'm a REALTOR®, and I'm a licensed sales associate with Realty Hub. So when I say I'm a REALTOR®, I'm talking about my membership and my license, not the website.
What Realtor.com does well
- Lots of listings, for sale and for rent, across the country.
- Easy search tools: maps, filters, saved searches and alerts.
- Plenty of reading: a large library of renting and buying articles.
How a rental inquiry works on Realtor.com
When you use a form like "Request Tour" or "Contact Agent," you are giving Realtor.com your information. Its privacy notice lists those features by name and says Move shares some personal data "with our third-party clients or business partners, such as realtors, landlords, and other Professionals to facilitate your transactions."
In plain words: your message goes to whoever is set up to answer for that listing. That may be a landlord, a property manager or an agent. Ask about several listings and you may be talking to several different people.
What's different at RentedFirst
Here you're not filling in a form for a listing. You're talking to me. Right now my search shows 2,243 live long-term rentals from the MLS in Hallandale Beach and the cities around it.
- You tell me what you need: budget, size, move-in date, pets, the areas you like. Text me, fill in the form, or search and tap the ones you like.
- I check before you spend anything. I contact the listing agent to confirm the unit is still available and ask about pet rules, condo association approval and the full move-in total.
- I set up your tours, in person or by video, and line them up so you can see several places in one trip.
- I help you apply and make your offer: the owner's application, your documents, and a clear written offer on price, move-in date or lease length when it makes sense.
- I stay with you through the lease and move-in: approval, lease review, where the move-in money goes, and keys.
One number to text, one person who knows your budget, your move-in date and your pet's name, and who doesn't hand you off.
