Renting in Hallandale Beach: Areas, Live Prices & What Landlords Ask For

Hallandale Beach is a small city in southeast Broward County, between Hollywood to the north and Aventura and Golden Beach to the south. Most rentals here are condo units owned by individual landlords, so the process looks a little different from renting in a big managed apartment complex. This guide covers where the rentals are, what they cost today, and what you will be asked for.
The main areas, by type of housing
- East of the Intracoastal (South Ocean Drive / A1A). High-rise condo towers along the beach. Many units have ocean or Intracoastal views; buildings often have pools, gyms, valet or garage parking, and a front desk. Most of these buildings have a condo association that must approve renters (see our condo approval guide).
- Golden Isles and Three Islands. West of the Intracoastal and east of US-1, around Golden Isles Drive and Three Islands Boulevard. Mid- and high-rise condos plus some townhomes, many on canals or lakes.
- Along US-1 and Hallandale Beach Boulevard. Newer rental buildings and older mid-rise condos close to shops, Gulfstream Park and bus routes.
- West of US-1 / Dixie Highway. Garden-style and low-rise buildings, duplexes and some single-family homes. Often fewer amenities and simpler approval.

What landlords and associations usually ask for
- A completed application for every adult who will live there, with a photo ID. Application fees are set by the landlord or their agent.
- Proof of income. Recent pay stubs, an offer letter, bank statements, or tax returns if you are self-employed. Many landlords look for monthly income of about 2.5 to 3 times the rent, but the requirement is set listing by listing.
- Credit and background screening. Minimum credit scores vary by landlord. Tell your agent up front if your credit is thin or under 600; some landlords accept a larger deposit or a guarantor.
- Rental history. Current landlord contact details.
- Association approval in most condo buildings, with its own application, fee and timeline.
- Pets: each building has its own pet rules. Assistance animals are not pets under fair housing law and are handled separately.
How to move fast
Good units at fair prices rent quickly. Have your ID, income documents and move-in funds ready before you tour, and know your move-in date. Read move-in costs explained so the numbers are not a surprise.
